    BOY.OmEGA interview
Just a few might know about this guy... sad somehow, cause Boy Omega is one is those
musicians who write music right from their heart... honest, true, melancholic and melodic,
whatever,... no need to say more! Just 13 questions... read it!!!

1.) Who is Boy Omega and... who is Henrik Gustafsson?

Boy Omega is a one-man-band with up to eight members. Martin Henrik Gustafsson is me.
I'm 28 years old. I live in Göteborg, Sweden and I make music.

2.) Are those different characters or what do they have in common?

They have a lot in common.Almost everything.

3.) Why they do the things they do and of course... what they do?

It may sound like a cliche, but writing songs is kind of like theraphy for me (and the boy).

4.) Is Boy Omega more these kind of singer/songwriter thing or would you consider it as
    a band... probably not?!

I always consider Boy Omega to be a band when we're playing live, so I'd say I would
consider it both actually. And on the third album that we're working on now, it has the full
orchestra playing on almost every song. The first two albums are more solo-albums I'd say.

5.) Let's talk about the reason... "Black Tango", the new album is like an open book...
just read it's all about the end of athree year relationship, don't know if it's true... isn't it?!

It is true. Everything that's written in the press-sheet is true. I would never lie about things
    like that.

6.) Emotional sickness, pain, love, hope... is it like' just one theme you cover or a complete
process with the beginning and the end or the other way round respectively???

It's more like the complete process. Backwards and forwards. Upside down. Side to side.

7.) Those feelings definetly have an effect on your music... so obviously everything you
experience seems to be important for that?

Of course. Everything I experience in life is important for the writing process.

8.) When you're sad, are your songs more melancholic...?

    The lyrics probably are, yes.

9.) What things have an effect on the boy omega sound? Name bands or whatever has
an influence... whatever comes in your mind for any reason!

Everyday life, my everyday mood, friends, family, books, movies, weather conditions,
ghosts, the unknown, music etc. This and that.

10.) How long did it take to create all the songs for "Black Tango"?

I'd say about a year and a half, but I was working on other stuff simultaneously.
    The third album for instance.

11.) What is Boy Omega currently listening to?

The wind and the rain. The buzz from my computer. My neighbours... Some musical favorites
at the moment: Eluvium, Smog, Stina Nordenstam, Sage Francis, Great Lake Swimmers,
Loney Dear, Supersilent, Xiu Xiu, Alasdair Roberts, Kammerflimmer Kollektief, Neurosis,
Broken Social Scene, Christopher Bissonnette, The Innocence Mission, Gas, Jason Anderson,
    Oval, M83, Kettel etc.

12.) the omega tour around germany and austria just started, how is it going so far?

The first part of this tour we did in Germany and The Netherlands was really nice.
On the 19th of april were heading for the uk. Playing in England, Wales and Scotland.
Then we're going to play in France, Austria, Switzerland and some more shows in
Germany. The tour will last til the 12th of May.

13.) on stage it it's more than just one person, i know that... so how many people are involved?

On stage there are eight people at the most. On the new recordings there are more people
involved. Probably 15. On this upcoming tour we are five people in the band. I play the
acoustic guitar, some background programming and sing. Karin Wiberg plays the violin,
accordion and melodica, Andreas Lassus plays the drums and melodica, Per-Ola Eriksson
plays the piano and electric guitar and Björn Kleinhenz plays the bass and sing backing vocals.
