    SLIPKNOT INTERVIEW
     Docks, Hamburg 29.01.2002

..... dummerweise schon wieder eine Stunde zu spät. Mist !

High Corey, we are not very good prepared to this interview.
Is there something special you would like to talk about ?

Corey (vocals): Just ask me everything you fuckin`want to know…

I know that you come from a very rural area.

Very, very, very rural. Very farm based, very rolling country side. A basic peace of shit. Fucking cities. It`s ok. It is a kind of quartered off from the rest of the world. That was really the fuel behind  this band. We always knew what we wanted to do. We knew how we could do it. It was the hardest work I ever did in my life, but we did it. Now I am sitting in Hamburg, talking to you guys. It is great fucking feeling.

Lets talk about your image. It is a certain point that deals with slipknot. How important
    is that to you ?

Our image was never primary to slipknot. It was always secondary. The music was
always first. We never took our mask and started to practice. We came up as normal
people and worked on the music. The music gets a whole new meaning when you put
on the cover masks and play live for people. We knew that we could do
anything to the music, people would still look at the masks. But that is bullshit!
I mean, you can go to any fucking concert you want. You can see the most boring
piece of shit fucking band on the planet. But if you get that one song, dude, that opens
you up- you can`t fuck with that, you can`t touch that…. Especially when we mean
everything that we say in every minute of every fucking day.

How do you work on your music ? There are nine people…..

I know, there is a lot of people in the band. It is a lot easier than you think. Because there
are so many people, your ideas are coming from all over the place. You have always to
compromise at the same time you create it. Songs can grow up in different directions.
That`s why it is so fucking interesting to listen to it. It is fucking great shit.

But there must be a certain connection
    between all this different people.
Just one thing that connects  you all ?

We just dig what we write. I cant`t think of
two greater guitar players than fucking
James and Mick; I can`t think of a fucking
greater drummer than Joey; I can`t think
of two greater fucking performers and
    percussionists than Chris and Shawn;
I can`t think of a better DJ on this fucking
planet than Sid, I can`t think of a more
cracy and more serial killer guy than
Craig, I can`t think of better fucking

    bass
player that lays it down than Paul.
It is just the fact of being a fan of
    everyone who deals with this

    fucking
band. I can`t talk for
    anybody else…..

And you always have the biggest crew when you come up…..

ALWAYS !!! It is fucking insane dude, but at the end of the day the majority of this
people came out of my town or were with us from the beginning. It is a giant family
going out on the road to share adventures.
It sounds like a lot of fun.

It can be. Sometimes it is pain in the ass, but a lot of times you can`t touch that sense that
you are there. It doesn`t matter how impossible the doubts , the walls, the problems are,
you are there and it is happening. At the end of the day all these kids will walk away from this
show feeling like they were part of something special. And if you do this, everything else
comes second. If you are not happy, nobody else is happy…..i am pretty fucking happy
right now ! I am completely drunk right now. I can guarantee you now that you will see a
show that you`ve never been seen before tonight ! (ja, wie auch…?)

Is there something special happen tonight ?

Let`s say it this way: We will deviate from the setlist. And it may not be as long as people
want. But I will something special and fucking huge. Something the people will remember.

    jonas.
