the.biography:
KVLR (ex-Kevlar) from Umeċ Sweden have had one of those years when
everything
seems to happen. The band was forced to change their name by a
multinational corporation.
They toured all over Europe and most of the US. But most importantly,
they have managed
to create a new album that is filled with melodies and energy.
After seven years of
spending time in rundown vans and using x kilowatthours of european
and american power it has finally happened: KVLR has made THE album.
Maybe it was the
fact that the band went into the studio with the attitude that they
should just have fun, keep it
simple, and record live as much as possible. Maybe it was the added
inspiration of having a
new bass player, Joel Borg, who just recently joined the band, giving
them a shot of inspiration
and new blood. Add some great background vocals from Lena
Karlsson of Komeda and you
have the final ingredient that brings this album to the heights it
reaches.
KVLR were formed in 1996,
the year their debut 7 was released. The debut album
Let Me Worry Some More was released in 1999 on the american
label The First Time
Records/Southern. This album was followed by the noisier The
Deadly Dozen EP. 2002
brought a line-up change as well as the album The Great
Collapse. Lets just say that KVLR
have been one of Swedens best-kept secrets for the last couple of
years. We think the new
album will change that.
